Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel about a society of the future in which ideas and thinking are the greatest enemies. Possession of books is strictly prohibited and if found, firemen burn them together with the houses. By writing the book alone, Bradbury pointed out the importance of keeping and reading the books.

Design is based on the idea of preserving books from firemen. The book is divided into five parts, pertaining to each of the five major characters. Each part is put on different type of paper and is typographically treated in accordance with a particular character. There are also stickers with the most important quotes from the book.
The book is not bound, so that with its appearance, it does not reveal itself as a “book” and parts of it can be easily hidden and thus saved from firemen. Stickers allow you to place the book’s most important parts anywhere; on gadgets, cars, walls and notebooks and this way legitimately “override the system”.

„It’s not the books you need. It’s some of the things that are in books. The magic is only in what
books say, how they stitched the patches of the universe together into one garment for us.“
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
